The Philadelphia Veterans Parade is proud to announce the 2018 Veterans Parade will take place on Sunday, November 4th, the 4th Annual Philadelphia Veteran Parade is set to be even bigger and better ! It will starting at JFK Blvd and North 16th Street at 12noon.
With more than 150 organizations involving over 3,000 participants including over 30 Veteran Service Organizations, it will be a great celebration honoring our veterans.
ASSEMBLY AREA
All participating organizations will be staging between 16th –20th & JFK to line up for the parade. While waiting for the parade to begin, be sure to check out our hospitality area.
Thank You Veterans & HOSPITALITY
Look for the MISSION BBQ Truck and LaFrance FIRETRUCK at 17th & JFK Blvd where we will be pumping up for the parade with Patriotic music and giving out FREE Water Bottles, American Flags, Program Guides,Peanuts/Breakfast Bars and Thank You Cards to our veterans! We will also have Thank Your for Your Service cards that you may sign/jot a note on and the cards will be sent to our active military men and women.
PORT-A-POTTIES
For your convenience there will also be 6 Port a Potties in the staging area. 3 will be located between 16th &17th on JFK and another 3 between 17th -18th on JFK.
Don’t Forget – Daylight Savings Time Ends on November 4th – at 2am on November 4th, you push your clocks BACK one hour !

PARADE ROUTE
The Philadelphia Veterans Parade runs through the heart of Philadelphia, beginning at 16th & JFK, past City Hall, and then on to Market Street, where it concludes at 5th & Market Streets. Be sure to line the route to support our veterans and cheer them on as they march past !
REVIEWING STAND / BLEACHERS
The Stage and Bleachers are located on Market between 6th St and 5th St (Limited seating)
OPENING CEREMONY / PARADE
Master of Ceremonies, Parade Announcer, Grand Marshall, Singers and Trumpet player include Montford Point Marine Albert Willis, Bob McMahon, Judge Dugan, Bill Meade, Kevin Pierce and Aidan Peterson.Special guests Hector Maisonave and other local veterans.
TELEVISION BROADCAST
The Parade is broadcast live on Channel 6 beginning at 12:30pm.
FLYOVER / PARATROOPERS –
Weather permitting, there will be a flyover along with Team Fastrax parachuting in!
FREEDOM TREE
There will be a “Freedom Tree” in the festival that attendees can write why they are proud to be an American on paper and hang on tree. This tree will be donated to a Veteran Service Organization at the parade.
VSO Tables
Over 30 organizations will have tables set up in the Festival area to share their information with you! These organizations include AARP, Alpha Bravo Canine , American Red Cross, Dept. Veterans Affairs- Crescenz, Drexel University, Herbology Dispensary, Humana Market Point Inc, Jewish War Veterans Cherry Hill, Leathernecks Nation Mc, Liberty Warbird Association, Main Line Health, Martin Law, Military Assistance Project, Mission Continues, Natl Fed of Black Veterans Network, Navy Federal Credit Union, New Beginnings, North Central Phila Susq CDC, Phila Cnty Council Amer Legion, PAWS, Salvation of Sorrows, Steven A Cohen Military Family Clinic Univ, Taxpayer Advocate Service, Team RWB, T-Mobile, Travis Manion Foundation, United States Post Office, Veterans Multi-Service Center, VFW Dept of PA and Post 20, Weekly Fight and Women Veterans ROCK!
FESTIVAL
Be sure to stop by the Festival, located at 5th & Market Street, which is open 12:30-4pm. Once again there will be a Beer Garden by Philadelphia Brewing and live entertainment by Savior Soul, Jean Therapy, Tony Flagiello of Philly Beat Alliance and a special song for our veterans by Lydia Myers ! Be sure to bring the children out for some Face Painting by The Fresh Princess or Caricatures by Salvatore ! The Salvation of Sorrows will also be on hand to provide free haircuts for our veterans! Follow your nose to one of delicious Food Trucks ! On hand will be PJ Whelihan’s, Everything We Eat, El Tlacoc, Munchy Machine, Rita’s Water Ice, Jeremiah’s Custom Cuisine and Slider King! There will also be “A Million Thanks” letter writing table set up in the Festival area.
