PHILADELPHIA, PA – AMVETS, Freedom & Honor and Women Veterans ROCK! announced today that they will host their second Women Warrior Weekend for America’s Women Veterans, Active Duty, Reservist, and National Guard Servicewomen at the Freedoms Foundation in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania on January 15-17, 2016 . If you missed the first iteration of “Women Warrior Weekend,” sign up early to guarantee your space in this rewarding women’s retreat!
Women Warrior Weekends lead participants on a journey of self-discovery by integrating readjustment training, peer-to-peer coaching, and holistic healing to present participants with new ways to examine and resolve the issues left behind from combat stress, life experience and destructive behaviors. “The Freedom & Honor Warrior Transition Training has proven to be an effective and efficient reintegration model,” said AMVETS National Programs Director, Beryl Love. These workshops are designed to empower participants by giving them options and opportunities to shift their perspectives and approaches to the future.
“Our program is designed by veterans, for veterans to address reintegration-related challenges,” said Freedom & Honor Facilitator Nancy McGrory Richardson. “Working with Women Veterans ROCK! will allow us to reach and serve a larger group of women veterans who may not be aware of our assistance programs and services.”
“We are honored to be working with AMVETS to provide the Freedom & Honor transitional training and reintegration support services for America’s women veterans,” said Deborah Harmon-Pugh, National Campaign Chair of the Women Veterans ROCK! “This is an important collaboration that will connect the Women Veterans ROCK! National Affiliate Network to a new national resource. We believe that by working together, we will be able to increase and improve our abilities to serve, engage, and empower women in the military.”
With more than 70 years of history, AMVETS is one of the nation’s leading veterans’ service organizations, serving more than 250,000 members nationwide. AMVETS sponsors numerous programs designed by military veterans to provide their fellow veterans with the services and benefits they truly need.
