When The District of Columbia National Guard MWR, (Morale, Welfare & Recreation), say that they’re “Always Ready, Always There,” it’s more than a motto … its their demonstrated commitment
to their fellow Service Men and Women. This commitment can always be seen through the various programs, initiatives and support systems developed to build “Morale, Welfare & Recreation” for the dedicated DC National Guard Service Members and for DC National Guard Family Members as well.
The Benefits Car Show is a special event that celebrates classic vehicular Americana by showcasing a variety of vehicles including classic, custom, street rods, imports and motorcycles. This show presented a unique opportunity to share the passion for classic cars and honor Women Veterans too.
The Unity Thunder Car Club has a storied history of supporting charitable service organizations like Women Veterans ROCK! They participate yearly in the “Stuff-A-Truck” campaign with News Fox 5 and the Annual Winter Coat Drive with WHUR Radio. Their community outreach history includes: their generous support as host of the “Friday Night Cruise-In” at The Boulevard at Capital Center; often presenting educational scholarships; and providing “Back To School Supplies Drives” for regional residents.
